Discover vitamin C for Skincare
From moisturizers to serums to oils and more, there are seemingly endless different products you can use in a skincare routine.

One ingredient that's become very popular in many skincare regimens is topical vitamin C.

Research has shown that it can help the skin in several different ways, including:
  • Collagen: It has been found to help influence collagen synthesis and boost collagen production.
  • Free radicals: Vitamin C neutralizes free radicals, providing a UV-protective effect — and this is even better when combined with vitamin E.  While vitamin C can help free radicals, it's important to note that it makes your skin more susceptible to the sun's rays, so it's crucial to use sunscreen and protect your skin!
  • Inflammation: It can help activate pro-inflammatory cytokines, helping with inflammation.
  • Pigmentation: Vitamin C can help ease pigmentation and help even the skin's appearance.
Experts recommend searching for a vitamin C product with a 10-20% concentration level.

To use vitamin C topical serums:
  • Wash your face as normal.
  • Apply the vitamin C serum to your skin.
  • Follow up with moisturizer.
  • Use sunscreen on top of the moisturizer.
And you're all set!
How To Prevent Chafing in the Summer
It's getting to that time of year when being outside can mean getting hot and sweaty.

And with that comes a dreaded side effect: chafing.

Chafing happens when our skin rubs against other skin or material.

This can cause several uncomfortable things — including irritation, redness, rashes, bumps, and itching. It can also lead to blisters, bleeding, and infections in severe cases.

Luckily, there are a few simple ways to prevent chafing in the summer — and year-round!
  • Wear loose clothing with natural fibers: Loose clothing with natural materials — like cotton, linen, and bamboo — can help prevent uncomfortable chafing.
  • If you wear tight clothing, wear synthetic fibers to help wick moisture: While natural fibers naturally wick moisture off your skin, they tend to hold the moisture, which can cause chafing if they're tight and close to your skin. When wearing tighter garments, synthetic materials designed to wick away moisture can help.
  • Use anti-chafing gel, cream, or petroleum jelly: This can help prevent friction in specific areas, like between the thighs, where chafing may be the worst.
This New Toilet Paper Just Might Save the Planet
Every 24 hours, 27,000 trees are cut down to make toilet paper. To us, that feels like way too many — and Honeycomb agrees. That’s why this small, female-founded brand created luxury, three-ply toilet tissue made from bamboo. It feels just like regular high-end toilet paper, but doesn’t harm trees.

So why bamboo? It’s the fastest-growing plant in the world — growing 100 times faster than the average tree — which means thousands of rolls can be produced in the time it takes for a single tree to grow back.

Ready to treat yourself and the planet? Code NTS30 is still valid for new customers to get 30% off their first order until midnight.

What We're Watching: The ABCDEs of Skin Cancer
Moles, freckles, and spots on our skin are fairly common. In fact, by adulthood, many people have somewhere between 10 and 40 moles!

With these little skin spots being so commonplace, how do you know if one is concerning?

Experts recommend a yearly skin check with a professional to keep an eye out for anything concerning and, if necessary, to have any suspicious spots removed. However, they also say it's important to know the "ABCDEs" of skin cancer so you can get quick attention if a spot looks concerning.

This week, we've learned a lot from a 2-minute video from Northwell Health sharing the ABCDEs of skin cancer and what to look out for.

The ABCDEs of skin cancer include:
  • Asymmetry
  • Border
  • Color
  • Diameter
  • Evolving
