The Joy of Keeping Hobbies As Something Fun To Do
"Monetize your hobbies!"

If you love doing something, why not find a way to make money off it? You can get paid to do what you already enjoy doing!

While this seems like a great idea — and for some people, maybe a dream come true — we have a few arguments for keeping your hobbies simply as that.
  • Avoid burnout: Have you ever spent so much time, effort, or money on something you love that you get a little burned out on it? Sometimes, monetizing your hobbies can lead to this — and what you once did for fun begins to feel like something you dread.
  • Take the pressure off of yourself: Pushing yourself to make money off of your hobby can lead to feelings of disappointment if it isn't taking off the way you want, or if you feel like you should be doing more.
  • Keep work and your fun time separate: When your hobbies become work, it can leave little time to feel like you're unplugged and not working. Keeping these boundaries allows you to unwind and enjoy those hobbies for what they are!
This doesn't mean if you have a passion that you shouldn't turn it into something that makes you money. For example, many artists have successfully turned their love into a full- or part-time job.

However, it's important to consider if keeping your hobby just as that would bring you more joy and not feel so much pressure!

How "Dishabituation" Can Help Us Feel Joy
There is comfort in routine.

As humans, we inherently love familiarity. However, following the same routines day to day can also become a bit mundane.

"Dishabituation" — or a shift in our routines and how we think — can help us find excitement in our everyday lives and keep things interesting.

As shared by BNN, our brains tend to ignore the standard, routine parts of our daily routines. However, when something is new or out of place, it sparks our attention.

This can apply to all areas — including the clothes in our closets, what we eat, and the places we go.

However, as cognitive neuroscientist Tali Sharot details in the book "Look Again: The power of noticing what was always there," dishabituation can spark joy and keep us motivated, BNN shares.

This can include something small like a shift in routine or a new perspective on something we already do daily.

It doesn't have to be big — finding small yet mindful ways to shake things up can help us find happiness!

Painting As A Form Of Self-Care
Painting can serve as a powerful form of self-care, offering a therapeutic outlet for expressing emotions, reducing stress, and promoting mindfulness. Here are some tips to get started with painting as a means of self-care:
Create a Relaxing Space: Designate a quiet and comfortable area where you can paint without distractions. Surround yourself with inspiring images, soothing music, or aromatherapy to enhance the experience.

Start with Simple Supplies: You don't need expensive or elaborate materials to begin painting. Invest in basic supplies such as acrylic or watercolor paints, brushes, and paper or canvas. Experiment with different mediums and techniques to discover what resonates with you.

Embrace Imperfection: Let go of expectations and perfectionism. Painting is about self-expression, not producing flawless masterpieces. Allow yourself to explore and make mistakes—it's all part of the creative process.

Paint Your Emotions: Use painting as a way to express and process your emotions. Whether you're feeling joyful, anxious, or melancholic, allow your feelings to guide your brushstrokes and color choices.

Practice Mindfulness: Approach painting with a mindful mindset, focusing on the present moment and the sensory experience of applying paint to canvas. Notice the colors, textures, and sensations as you create.

Set Aside Regular Time: Incorporate painting into your self-care routine on a regular basis. Schedule dedicated time for painting sessions, even if it's just a few minutes each day.

Celebrate Your Creations: Appreciate and celebrate your artwork, regardless of the outcome. Each painting is a reflection of your unique perspective and journey.

By embracing painting as a form of self-care, you can cultivate greater self-awareness, creativity, and emotional well-being in your life.

Unwind In Nature
In the midst of our hectic lives, finding solace in nature has become a powerful form of self-care. Stepping into the great outdoors offers a myriad of therapeutic benefits that rejuvenate the mind, body, and soul.

Immersing oneself in nature allows for a much-needed break from the constant demands of modern life. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through a park, a hike in the woods, or simply sitting by a serene lake, the calming effect of natural surroundings can significantly reduce stress levels.

The fresh air and sunlight encountered outdoors contribute to physical well-being, boosting the immune system and improving overall mood. Exposure to natural light regulates circadian rhythms, promoting better sleep patterns and enhancing the quality of rest.

Nature provides a backdrop for mindfulness and reflection. The sights and sounds of the natural world encourage a sense of presence, grounding individuals in the current moment. This mental clarity fosters stress reduction and a more positive outlook on life.

Additionally, outdoor self-care activities, such as gardening or picnicking, offer a sense of accomplishment and joy. The act of connecting with the earth, whether through digging in the soil or simply feeling the grass beneath your feet, promotes a deeper connection with oneself and the surrounding environment.

Incorporating outdoor self-care into your routine is a transformative practice, offering a sanctuary of peace and rejuvenation amid the hustle and bustle of daily life. Nature, with its timeless beauty, provides an ever-present invitation to unwind, breathe deeply, and embrace the healing power of the natural world.
These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2023
If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!
